Why Does the Caged Bird Sing?

She's strong, but hated, not protected, disrespected. She endures much shit, as her legs they get split, like wings. Want to know why the caged bird sings? Ask a Black Queen....

Love supreme is the theme of this rhyme, over time, as the foundation crumbled, she stumbled on a strength, but she's humble, dawned an apron, cooked bacon, cleaned his floor, what for? In the end she's still poor.....
Endurance and patience, she saved a nation, did things that she shouldn't, held jobs when he couldn't, raised hell when they wouldn't, no fool, sent her children to school, followed the rules, compelled to keep her sons out of jail, fighting' gansters and drugs, with love and hugs, paying in blood....

She was free, no enemies, they wanted he, not she, no jealousy, the message , send it, be independent, and strong, like a man hold your own, but that was wrong.....She lost her way, but saved her home, alone, now he's gone, seeking whiter bones.....

The stories not over, turn the page, there she sits, within a cage, she built for her self, because , you see, she knows the danger of flying too free. Sure she could leave, that would be wrong, so she sits and sings a lost birds song. Until self love is retrieved, and hair is not weaved, and spending cash on fake nails and lash, is in the past, and men see more than a thick ass....

When she is reedeemed, so prestine is the day, you could say fly away, but she'll still stay, this is home, her throne, it's safe here, it seems, for a Black Queen....
